Residential Structure Fire - 1099 Miller Road

February 3, 2009 - 0451hrs

At 0451hrs, PFD was dispatched automatic aid with Kingston Springs FD to a residential structure fire at 1099 Miller Rd.  Engine 502 and Tanker 511 arrived on scene first.  Crews found a double-wide trailer structure fully involved with a propane tank roughly 15 feet away from the burning structure.  Crews pulled 2 - 2 1/2" attack lines - one to cool the propane tank and one to start suppression operations.  All occupants were out of the structure.  KSFD command also requested White Bluff FD for mutual aid assistance.  Tanker Shuttles and dump tank operations were initiated due to the nearest hydrant being  approximately 1 1/2 miles down the road.  Dump tank was set up on the street in front of the structure with E302 drafting from it and relaying water to E502 via 5" LDH supply line.  Propane tank was cooled and fire was under control.  The structure was a total loss.  Crews were on scene for approximately 2 1/2 hrs.
